YCIW’s Teacher Fellowship program offers a 10-month experience working with an innovative music education program being used throughout the US.
Work with classroom teachers in implementing a music composition curriculum that utilizes the latest in music ed tech.
Collaborate on designing new pedagogies that help young learners compose music.
Gain experience with classroom practices that incorporate progressive innovations in music teaching and learning.
Work directly with students providing feedback support and mentoring help.
Improve your skills with popular learning management systems widely used by teachers and school districts.
Build a range of teaching strategies that can be applied in many different music classroom settings.
We are seeking highly motivated individuals who are interested in exploring new pathways for music education. Ideal Teaching Fellows will be open to progressive teaching models that incorporate technology. The Teaching Fellows program is best suited for individuals currently enrolled in music education graduate programs or are recent post graduates. Preservice or inservice teachers are also encourage to apply. YCIW Teacher Fellowships are unpaid positions.
Teaching Fellows can reside in any part of Unites States. Collaboration, teaching and most activities will take place online. Teachers who live in or near New York City will have opportunities to work with teachers and students at several different school sites in grades 4 thru 12.
